How it works
Enter how many cigarettes you smoke a day and what a pack costs. The calculator shows what that adds up to and what you keep by stopping.
The invested figure assumes the monthly savings are deposited each month and grow at the return you enter, compounded monthly. It shows how quickly a daily expense can become a meaningful sum.
Pack prices vary widely by state because of excise taxes. Life insurance premiums for smokers are also often two to three times higher, which this calculator does not include.
Formula
Yearly savings = cigarettes per day ÷ cigarettes per pack × pack price × 365
