How it works
Convert liquid and dry volumes between metric units, US customary kitchen and liquid measures, UK imperial measures and cubic units. The full table shows the same amount in every unit.
US and imperial units share names but not sizes. A US gallon is defined as 231 cubic inches (exactly 3.785411784 L), while an imperial gallon is exactly 4.54609 L, about 20% larger. An imperial pint is 20 imperial fluid ounces; a US pint is 16 US fluid ounces.
Formula
Result = value × (liters per from-unit) ÷ (liters per to-unit). 1 US gal = 3.785411784 L; 1 imp gal = 4.54609 L.
